The match was sloppy at times and incredibly physical with 13 first half fouls called, who knows how many went unnoticed. Eric Brunner scored a great “in the right place at the right time” goal against his former crew, and ultimately that’s what got us the three points. However this image is the one that gets me, Troy Perkins sharing the victory with his son, a victory that marks his third shut out at Jeld-Wen and our fifth straight victory at home. This man’s fingertips pushed a brilliant header by Heinemann just wide and preserved the sheet and the victory. This weekend we’ll have another test at home in DC United and I can only hope that the boys in green will continue on to set the new record for best MLS start at home.
